Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, signing in, or using MoodMirror, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use MoodMirror (16 in jurisdictions with a higher digital-consent age).

MoodMirror is not directed at children under these ages and we do not knowingly collect their data; see the Privacy Policy for our COPPA process.

3. Account & security

You can create an account using email + password, Sign In with Apple, or Sign In with Google.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. Full instructions are at moodmirror.io/delete-account.

You are responsible for your account credentials. Use a strong, unique password and enable platform-level protections (Face ID / Touch ID / device passcode).

4. Acceptable use

• No harassment, hate speech, threats, or content depicting illegal acts in entries — reflections may be paused if flagged automatically.
• Do not use the app to coordinate harm to yourself or others. If you are in crisis, please use the resources in Section 6.
• No scraping AI reflections, no reverse-engineering the API, no automated bulk entry creation, and no resale of access.

5. Subscriptions and in-app purchases

Free tier: limited access to AI reflections and other paid features.

Pro tier: subscription managed through RevenueCat; the merchant of record is Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) depending on your platform.

Refunds are handled by the platform store under their respective policies. We do not directly process refunds.

Auto-renewal follows the platform store’s standard terms; you can cancel at any time in your platform’s subscription settings.

6. AI features and disclaimers

AI reflections come from a third-party large language model (Anthropic’s Claude). Outputs are best-effort pattern recognition based on what you write; they are NOT medical, therapeutic, legal, financial, or professional advice.

MoodMirror is not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are in distress, please reach out to a licensed clinician or a crisis line:

AI may produce inaccuracies, hallucinations, or biased framings. We provide no warranty as to correctness.

7. Intellectual property

Your journal content remains yours. You keep full ownership of everything you write.

You grant MoodMirror a limited, non-exclusive license to store your entries in our infrastructure and to send them to Anthropic to generate reflections, solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We do not sell, rent, or license your content to third parties.

8. Disclaimer of warranties & limitation of liability

The service is provided AS-IS without warranty of any kind.

To the extent permitted by law, our maximum liability shall not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Moldova, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of the Republic of Moldova, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence grant you the right to bring a claim locally.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, especially Section 4 (Acceptable use) or Section 2 (Eligibility).

You may delete your account at any time via /delete-account.

Upon termination, the license you granted in Section 7 ends and we delete your data per the Privacy Policy retention rules.

10. Changes to terms

We will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page whenever these terms change. For material changes (e.g., new fees, new dispute-resolution mechanisms) we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via an in-app banner on your next sign-in or by email.
